My unforgetable experiences in writing 1

Writing 1 was one of my studies in last semester. At first, I though writing 1 was about writing anything that I wanted to write freely, but actually there were many theories and rules in writing. Exploring each of the rules was one thing that I did to write a good writing, for examples : bought a book and found website that provided some writing rules and examples, looked up grammatical terms in the glossary. Beside that, one thing that I rarely did in writing 1 was using punctuations (semi colon, dash, aposthrophe) because I could not understand to make good impression by using them. By studying writing, I knew that writing is thinking on paper, so I had to think to find the ideas that would be written. In writing 1, I got many knowledge and experiences necessary to develop my skill in writing.  I would like to share about my experiences when I studied writing 1 in last semester, including the lectures, the lessons and the final examination.

Firstly, one of my experiences was about the lecturers. I studied writing 1 with Mr.Saunir and Mrs. Witri. Because Mrs. Witri had to prepare for her pregnance, she was replaced by Mr.Hafiz. Each lecturers had different ways in teaching writing 1. Every meeting with Mr.Saunir, the volunteer students would presentated their writing about our lessons. For example,  if we studied about report text, the volunteer student presentated their report text. I was the second one who presentated about our lessons, exactly I presentated a paragraph that I wrote. Mr.Saunir’s way in teaching was different with Mr.Hafiz. Like common lecturers, Mr.Hafiz explained the theories about writing and also the examples, then he asked us to write a paragraph or essay based on our lessons. Although they taught in different ways, I stil could develop my skill in writing and much better than the first semester.

The next experiences was about the lessons. In last semester, I studied about paragraph, descriptive text, procedure text, comparison and contrast text, cause and effect text, and report text. Among all of the lessons, I found many difficulties when I wrote descriptive text. In descriptive writing, we just not tell the readers what was seen,felt tested, smelled, or heard ; we have to describe something that is vivid, colorful and detail. Because of the rules I could not make it as real as the reality and vivid.Beside that, the most interesting lesson for me was about cause and efffect text. Perhaps, I really paid attention to the lecturers when they were explaining the lessons and I did more practice to write the text. In general, the lessons of writing 1 were very usefull and helpfull to create a paragraph or an essay.

The last experience was very important to share because it was a bad experience about final examination. I had to write an essay that I could choose the topic in the question sheet. I wrote a cause and effect essay and I wrote it in a piece of paper that was not the answer sheet. I got many ideas and wrote as possible as I could. While I was copying to the answer sheet, the time was over. I could not finish my writing because the lecturer asked me to collect the answer sheet. I was very confuse and I did not what happened to my score later. I though that I would fail in writing 1, but I said thanks to the God because I did not fail. It was the bad experience that I had in last semester.

In concluding, all of experiences that I got in writing 1 were not just as common experiences , but they could be a teacher for the next writing. Eventhough I had a bad experience in final examination, I also learned that I should be carefull in writing.
